July 29, 2019
On Friday, July 12, Governor Jaime Rodríguez Calderón signed an agreement for the Strengthening of Nuevo León's Businesswomen with the aim of reinforcing the state's business sector.
The event was held in the Courtyard of Honor of the Government Palace, where the Governor of the State, the State Ministry of Economy and Labor, as well as civil associations of businesswomen that promote the strengthening of the entrepreneurial and business environment were present.
Representing the Chamber was Aracely W. Ching, current President of the Women in Business Commission, a group of women industry leaders who manage gender public policies on labor issues.
During the event, very important topics were discussed, mentioning that at least 3 out of every 5 SMEs are headed by women, which is why, as a request from Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, he ordered that state programs be expanded to benefit small and medium-sized companies headed by women.
Among the objectives agreed upon in the agreement were:
• Promover la participación de las mujeres en el emprendimiento empresarial. • Fomentar la capacitación de empresas lideradas por mujeres. • Impulsar la participación de las mujeres en el ámbito de la certificación. • Fomentar la promoción de los productos y servicios y todas aquellas acciones que tengan como objetivo implementar sinergias.
Roberto Russildi Montellano, head of the Ministry of Economy and Labor, said that the government is currently developing actions focused on improving working conditions in the economy, where women are a fundamental part.
"In these actions, women must be included, in these groups of human capital, labor relations, productive infrastructure of the State, financing for small and medium enterprises, we have a pending issue and that is to increase gender participation".
Finally, it was mentioned that in the coming weeks this project of reengineering of the economic area of Nuevo Leon will be presented, where women will be integrated under equal circumstances.
