Monterrey and CAINTRA simplify procedures for cargo traffic in the municipality
June 19, 2023
The City Council of the Municipality of Monterrey approved the CAINTRA reform to the Municipality's Traffic and Road Regulations, which promotes digital procedures and avoids over-regulation of cargo transportation. The modifications were approved in the session of last Thursday, May 04, 2023, where it stands out: - The circulation permit is eliminated to become a registry. - The registration process will be free of charge. - It may be done digitally, through the municipality's platform. - It will be valid for one calendar year. - It may be carried on paper or electronically.
Also, it is established that freight vehicles that are not destined for the municipality of Monterrey, that is to say, that are passing through, will transit through the peripheral beltways and will not need to be registered.
The aforementioned amendments will become effective 120 days after their publication in the Official Gazette of the State.
The amendments are in line with the General Road Safety Law and promote the avoidance of over-regulation, the digitalization of processes and procedures, as well as the simplification of the administrative burden, which is of great benefit to the industrial sector.
We acknowledge the willingness of the Municipality of Monterrey, through Mayor Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas and Councilman Marcelo Gonzalez Jimenez, who took on this fundamental issue for the industry, as well as the collaboration of CANACAR in Nuevo Leon.
CAINTRA will continue to seek to simplify, digitalize and eliminate the formalities and regulations of the industrial sector, working hand in hand with the competent authorities.
