Nuevo León's Manufacturing MSMEs Outperform the Rest of the Country in Employment Generation
August 28, 2025
Based on IMSS figures, Nuevo Leon's manufacturing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) have generated 1,462 jobs from January to July 2025. This result contrasts with the performance of the rest of the country where, excluding Nuevo Leon, manufacturing MSMEs have a net loss of 144 jobs in the same period.
The 1,462 jobs created by MSMEs represent 21% of the total manufacturing jobs generated in the state, contributing to the 6,809 total jobs that position Nuevo León as a national leader in this area. The figures reveal how the state's manufacturing MSMEs have managed to maintain their position as net generators of employment in a context of significant economic challenges, thus consolidating the strength of Nuevo León's industrial base.

However, we cannot abandon MSMEs in this environment. These companies require support and backing to maintain jobs and rebound in their creation. Therefore, CAINTRA calls on the authorities to implement policies and programs that strengthen the state's manufacturing MSMEs, such as accelerating financing resources in guarantees and factoring, as well as reducing their administrative burden.
