CCM Promotes the Digitalization of SMEs to Strengthen their Competitiveness

In Mexico, only 26% of companies are in the process of digital transformation and, of this universe, only 12% correspond to micro, small and medium-sized companies, a figure below the world average. This lag represents a significant challenge for the country's competitiveness, particularly for micro and small industrial companies, which are an essential part of the value chains.

Diagnoses by the CCM, an affiliate of CAINTRA, indicate that the main challenge for SMEs is not technology, but the lack of basic digital presence and communication capabilities, which limits their linkage and visibility with clients and tractor companies.

Against this backdrop, the Digital SMEs program, an initiative of the CCM with the support of CAINTRA and the Government of the State of Nuevo Leon, through the Ministry of Economy, specifically designed to support micro and small businesses in building a clear, professional and sales-oriented digital presence, kicked off on Wednesday, January 28.

Thanks to the support of the State Government, the program has 80% scholarships, which will benefit 150 local companies, starting with a first group of 25 participants. The objective is to provide companies with practical, accessible and quickly implemented tools to strengthen their visibility, commercial communication and linkages with large companies.

The program includes 31 hours of training in nine modules on brand communication, value proposition, commercial materials and strategic use of digital channels, and includes an introduction to AI and cybersecurity. It concludes with a Pitch & Match Business Meeting to present value propositions and hold one-on-one meetings with buying companies.

During the program kick-off, Irma León, president of the Monterrey Competitiveness Center, highlighted the practical focus of the initiative:

"It's not a complex technology program or large investments, but a practical accompaniment to help companies organize, professionalize and better communicate what they already know how to do well."

With PyMEs Digitales, the CCM, CAINTRA and the Government of the State of Nuevo León reaffirm their commitment to strengthening micro and small enterprises, boosting their competitiveness, their integration into value chains and their ability to take advantage of business opportunities in an increasingly digital environment.
