Digital transformation is no longer an option, but a necessity for small and medium-sized enterprises in Mexico. Despite their importance in economic growth, Mexican SMEs are lagging behind in the adoption of new technologies. According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), only 26% of the companies in Mexico have begun their digital transformation process, and of these, only 12% are SMEs.

Small and medium-sized companies are aware of the benefits that digitalization can bring. A study conducted by Deloitte reveals that 33% of Mexican SMEs expect technology to help them increase operational efficiency, 32% seeks to increase its sales and improve its marketing effortswhile 31% expects an improvement in consumer retention thanks to the adoption of digital tools.

However, many of them face significant barriers, such as a lack of technological infrastructure and a shortage of trained personnel. Among the key benefits that SMEs can gain by going digital are the reduction of waste, the optimization of their production processes and the ability to scale their production significantly.

Digital transformation not only boosts the operational efficiency of companies, but also opens up new opportunities in the global marketplace, which is critical to the survival and growth of SMEs. Adopting new technologies can help these companies become more competitive and better prepared to face the challenges of the future.

In this context, the Lean Organizations Meeting (EOE) 2024, to be held from October 8 to 10 at Cintermex.is presented as a key platform for SMEs to learn first-hand about success stories, innovative strategies and best practices for implementing digital transformation processes in their organizations.

The event will feature lectures by experts in digitalization, such as Ricardo Rodriguez Sanchez from Siemens, who will address the topic of how to bring SMEs into the digital era through accessible and effective technologies. In addition, interactive workshops will be offered that will allow attendees to understand how they can optimize their processes and improve their competitiveness; in addition to an invaluable opportunity for small and medium-sized Mexican companies seeking to adopt technologies and practices that will prepare them for the challenges of the future.
