THE NUMBERS THAT TELL THE STORY OF CAINTRA

March-April 2019

The history of CAINTRA can be told with its numbers, which are the materialization of its success. Let's follow the trail they leave us to discover the long path that the camera has traveled, starting with 75, the number of years it turns in 2019.

1944

By the 1940s, Nuevo León was consolidating itself as a cutting-edge industrial center with economic growth, where 557 industries, with an investment of more than 227 million pesos, led business development. The industrial nature of the state permeated all sectors of society: 45 % of the economically active population had employment in the state's manufacturing companies.

Given the great importance of the sector in the region, and seeking an alliance that would strengthen ties between businessmen to enhance the development of the state, on November 26, 1943, a group of important industrialists met to discuss the creation of an industrial chamber that will bring together all manufacturing companies. After important agreements and dialogues with the National Ministry of Economy, on February 26, 1944, the Chamber of the Transformation Industry of Nuevo León was established.

10.2%

The industry that CAINTRA represents contributes 10.2 % of Mexico's manufacturing production, which makes Nuevo León the main industrial hub outside the center of the country. In addition, the state's production generates a significant number of direct and indirect jobs, which positions it as the third largest employer in the Republic.

400

CAINTRA is one of the inroads and operators in the country of the Mexican Dual Training Model, together with Conalep, Cecyte and Coparmex, a scheme that makes it possible to resolve deficiencies in educational establishments and strengthen the training of young people to immediately enter the the industry. Currently, the chamber participates with 35 companies and nearly 400 students in this model.

28%

The companies that make up CAINTRA represent 28 % of the total volume of rail freight in the country. By road they make more than 36 million trips a year, which reflects the important participation in the national movement of goods. For this reason, CAINTRA has promoted reforms to have a road, rail, maritime and air transportation system that allows connectivity and efficiency in its use.

CAINTRA, CHAMBER THAT PROMOTES THE COMPETITIVENESS OF MEXICO

Since 1944, the Nuevo León Chamber of Transformation Industry has positioned itself as one of the business organizations with the greatest presence and influence in the development of proposals to promote the country's competitiveness. Since its origins, CAINTRA has promoted the main changes that have forged the productive activity of the country and the northeast of Mexico, starting with the formation of economic and social institutions, to trade opening and the link with large global value chains.

2012 / 2013

In 2012 and 2013, in the face of critical alerts that severely affected industrialists in several regions of the country, CAINTRA fought for and achieved the establishment of a comprehensive strategy for the supply of natural gas in Mexico. The strategy contemplated moderate costs in imported gas, as well as strengthening the structure of the National Gas Pipeline System, which has materialized in important infrastructure works throughout the country, such as the Los Ramones gas pipeline.

MORE THAN 600

With the support and participation of more than 500 volunteer businessmen and executives from various sectors and company sizes, the chamber has influenced various pillars that determine the country's competitiveness. The voice of industrialists reaches all levels of government, from initiatives in local councils and congresses to adjustments to federal laws and the constitutional framework in the Congress of the Union and the presidency of the Republic.

4.0

New communication technologies and advances in production processes have caused the fourth industrial revolution. Unlike previous changes in production processes, the country finds itself facing a new opportunity to position itself as a benchmark in technological innovation. The conditions in which this technological change is received, with macroeconomic stability and a solid manufacturing sector with high standards of competitiveness, open the way to enhance economic growth in Mexico.

The possibilities that the 4.0 revolution represents for the national industry are still unimaginable and are latent to be developed; Among them we can mention the creation of a virtual world of simulations and augmented reality that connects with the physical world in the development of parts and machinery. It also involves the interconnection of all equipment through the Internet, as well as offering products and services that use new channels and are in line with the trends set by big data.

CAINTRA is actively involved in this change, promoting the adoption and implementation of new technologies, disseminating best practices and success stories, creating collaborative spaces between different actors and promoting private investment for the development and transformation into new 4.0 companies. .

2019

CAINTRA celebrates its 75th anniversary. With more than 70 years representing the industrialists of Nuevo León and Mexico, with the leadership of 37 company captains and with the support of nearly 10,000 companies in the transformation sector, with operations throughout the country and the world, CAINTRA It is consolidated as a proactive and purposeful chamber that promotes the growth and competitiveness of the national industry.

In the first instance, and in an effort to support micro, small and medium-sized companies to facilitate their taxation and cash flows, CAINTRA managed to reduce the number of declarations and payments that companies make for ISR, IETU, VAT and IMSS. , going from 145 declarations to 119 per year. In addition, the chamber's proposal materialized with the benefit of bimonthly payments for microenterprises that pay taxes in the tax incorporation regime.
